The Art of Client Communication: Building Trust Through Verbal & Nonverbal Communication in Massage Therapy is a 4-hour, fully online and interactive continuing education course designed to help massage therapists communicate with greater awareness, confidence, compassion, and professionalism.

Every massage session involves communication—often before a client ever says a word. This course explores how verbal and nonverbal communication influence trust, comfort, boundaries, and the therapeutic relationship.

Through practical examples, guided reflection, interactive discussions, quizzes, and real-world scenarios, you will explore how to:

  • Build stronger therapeutic relationships through intentional communication
  • Recognize and respond to verbal and nonverbal client cues
  • Better understand how stress and nervous-system responses can influence communication
  • Communicate boundaries clearly while maintaining warmth and professionalism
  • Navigate difficult or uncomfortable conversations with greater confidence
  • Recognize when communication may be breaking down and respond thoughtfully
  • Reflect on your own communication habits and how they affect your clients
  • Apply compassionate communication skills directly to your massage practice
